Power Super Foods Chia seeds are full of nutrients and are one of the highest plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Chia is also a complete protein, rich in calcium, antioxidants, fibre and magnesium.* Sourced from traditional growing regions, known for the highest quality chia in the world, our organic chia seeds are fairly traded and create a wave of positive outcomes for small scale farmers through economic and social empowerment.

*When consumed as part of a healthy diet involving the consumption of a variety of foods.

Ingredients

Raw Certified Organic Chia Seeds (Salvia hispanica)

High Quality Chia Seeds

We source our Chia seeds from central America where they are grown non GMO, organically and sustainably using no harmful pesticides, fertilisers or toxins ensuring nutrient dense seeds with the best benefits.

Our chia seeds are predominantly black with some white/grey seeds. There is virtually no nutritional or taste difference between the colours.

Ways to Enjoy

Light in flavour and sprinkled whole or ground, chia seeds can be added to cereals, yoghurt, fruit, salads, smoothies, juices and stir fries to increase nutrient intake. Super absorbent, they can also be included in baking mixes, protein balls, chia puddings, chia jam, and to make vegan “eggs”: A ratio of one tablespoon of chia mixed with three tablespoons of water creates a mix providing the moisture and binding properties of one egg.

Origins of Chia

An ancient superfood, the chia plant originates from the highlands of central and south America where they first sustained the Aztecs as a dietary staple and energy booster. Heat loving, it can grow in virtually desert - like conditions and produces beautiful purple, blue or white flowers. Thriving in formidable, diverse conditions, chia abounds with the nutrients needed to withstand the extreme heat and drought characteristic of its natural environment.
