The Benefits of Eating Alfalfa Sprouts

Rich in Nutrients: Alfalfa sprouts are packed with essential vitamins (such as A, B1, B2, B6, C, E, and K), minerals (including calcium, magnesium, iron, and phosphorus), and amino acids. These nutrients are important for overall health and various bodily functions.

Antioxidant Properties: Alfalfa sprouts are a source of antioxidants like vitamins C and E, which help combat oxidative stress and protect cells from damage caused by free radicals. Antioxidants are associated with reduced risk of chronic diseases.

Amino Acids: Alfalfa sprouts contain all eight essential amino acids, which are the building blocks of proteins. These amino acids are necessary for repairing and building tissues, supporting immune function, and more.

Phytonutrients: Phytonutrients present in alfalfa sprouts, such as flavonoids and coumarins, have been linked to potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects.

How to Grow Alfalfa Sprouts at Home – Using the Super Sprouter Germinator Glass Jar

  1. Prepare Your Jar: Use our specially designed Super Sprouter Germinator , which allows water to drain quickly through the strainer stand lid. Clean the jar and lid in hot water or the dishwasher to sterilize.
  2. Seed Measurement: Put 1 Tablespoon (about 10 g) of Alfalfa Sprouting Seeds into the clean jar.
  3. Seed Rinse: Rinse the seeds thoroughly by swirling them in cool water using the Super Sprouter Strainer Lid.
  4. Seed Soaking: Fill the jar halfway with cool fresh water and soak the seeds for 4–8 hours (overnight) to kickstart germination.
  5. Rinse After Soaking: After soaking, rinse the seeds in fresh cool water and drain them on the specially designed Lid Stand. Keep the jar out of direct sunlight for best results.
  6. Optimal Temperature: The best sprouting temperature is between 18–22°C. Warmer temperatures will speed up sprouting.
  7. Daily Rinsing: Rinse your sprouts 2–3 times a day using the Super Sprouter Strainer Lid. Increase rinsing frequency in warmer temperatures.
  8. Harvesting: Your sprouts will be ready in 4–6 days, depending on room temperature. When ready, transfer them to a bowl, cover with cold water, gently separate the sprouts to remove hulls, skim hulls off the water's surface, and drain.
  9. Drying: Gently dry the sprouts on a tea towel or kitchen paper.
  10. Storage: Store sprouts in your sprouting jar or a sealed container in the fridge for 3–5 days.
  11. Enjoy: Use your sprouts in smoothies, sandwiches, wraps, salads, or as a snack straight from the jar. They're delicious and packed with health benefits!
