UltraCeram Gravity Water Filter Replacement Candle, Fluoride Removal Cartridge

UltraCeram Gravity Candle with Fluoride removal Replacement Filter is imported from England and is an all in one filter that removes virtually all impurities including chlorine and fluoride and lasts up to 12 months.

This filter removes far more impurities than standard cande filters! As this filter is only 5 inches long it will fit most brands of gravity flitration systems including Southern Cross Pottery, Durand, Waterco, Australis, Stefani and Pozzani.

UltraCeram filter cartridges elements utilize class leading ceramic, micro-porous outer shell combined with a patented core technology – made from high quality NSF certified (ANSI 61) coconut shell based granular activated carbon and other adsorbent medias. The Ceramic media is impregnated with silver ions.

The UltraCeram combines mechanical filtration and physical adsorption processes to reduce a wide variety of drinking water contaminants of both aesthetic and health concerns. The pore structure of the ceramic enables sufficient contact time for the UltraCeram to be ideally suited to improving taste and odour as well as reducing chlorine, chloramine, volatile organic compounds, MTBE, lead, mercury, asbestos, arsenic and fluoride.

Three Stage Filtration:

Ceramic Filtreation - The ceramic membrane provides genuine sub-micron filtration of fine particle matter, bacteria, cysts and tubidity.

Silver Ions - The incorperation of silver locked within the ceramic structure gives enhanced bacteriostatic and self sterilising properties, inhibiting growth of bacteria.

Granular Activated Carbon - An inner core of activated carbon and other absorbant materials remove chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals and fluoride.

Installation:

1) Place filter upside down in a glass of water overnight before installing. This step is important to ensure correct water flow when filter is installed.

2) Install gravity filter candle within the top chamber of your filter system. Gently hand tighten the plastic nut underneath.

After installation, before consumption:

Flush the gravity filter candle before consumption by allowing a few litres of water to pass through the ceramic filter to remove any of the loose activated carbon particles.

Dispose of the first few litres of filtered water that may contain fine cabon particles. The fine particles are harmless and are a result of the manufacturing process.

Important: Inital taste of water with a new filter:

When water first hits the carbon of a brand new filter, a reaction occurs which can make the water a bit alkaline and a 'metalic' taste may be noticed.

This taste is not always noticed, but if this does occur with your new filter initially, the taste will fade in a week or so.

In this scenario, you may wish to flush a few additional litres a day speed up the process. Regardless, the water is safe to drink.
